Greytown Library & Hall

The Greytown Town Hall has so much to admire with an exemplary standard of detail and finish reached by the team at Holmes Construction Group. Key features include the decluttering of the building, the grace of the additions, maintaining the respect of the building’s history, and the dexterous deployment of materials.

Originally to be a brick building, there was a slight amendment to the plan, which read “change to timber framing“. By the end of the 20th century, the building, which had received some 1970s additions, including a verandah, had long lost its civic function. The community board approved Architecture Workshop’s submission and Holmes Construction Group began the complete project.

The team were extremely proud to be awarded this community project, especially as they have been a part of the local Greytown community and its projects for the last six decades.
