Wairarapa College Tahu Food Tech

Waicol is the region’s largest school catering for over 1,000 students, and it is also a busy venue for sporting and other community events during the weekends. Holmes Construction was the Main Contractor for the Tahu Food Tech project, collaborating closely with the architects and subcontractors to ensure these new facilities were delivered for the college on time and in budget. Tahu offers an exemplary facility for students to partake in a range of courses to teach culinary skills. One of the most notable design features is the complex euro style spanlok exterior cladding on a warm building system. In order to achieve the design, it required a plus or minus 0mm tolerance and was led, undertaken and completed by our third-year apprentice. This demonstrated invaluable problem-solving skills and our attention to details with the complex design requirements these developments possessed.

The Tahu Food Tech facility was designed and constructed with future users in mind, ensuring that a high quality space was created for the future generations at Wairarapa College
