Chris Albertson is a Wellington-based Commercial Manager with over 20 years in the New Zealand construction industry. He started on the tools as a carpentry apprentice and has since held senior commercial roles. That path gives him a practical understanding of how buildings are delivered, from early procurement and tendering through to final account. With a Diploma in Construction (Quantity Surveying) and years of hands-on building experience, Chris brings a grounded, commercially focused view to every project he's involved in.

Chris gained his early experience in carpentry apprenticeships with Wellington building firms and then ran his own residential construction company. From there he moved into quantity surveying and spent more than a decade in senior roles with leading New Zealand main contractors. He has provided commercial leadership on complex, multi-site projects across the education, civic, justice and energy sectors, working closely with clients, consultants and project teams to keep projects on track. His strengths include cost forecasting, procurement strategy, risk management, and contract and variation management.

Chris is a trusted advisor and a committed people leader, and he has mentored many young quantity surveyors and project managers over his career. He also has governance experience as Co-Chair of the Onslow College Board of Trustees and as a former member of the NZIQS Wellington Committee. Through his commercial skill and collaborative approach, he helps Holmes Construction deliver projects that are well managed, transparent and successful for clients.
