Martinborough Golf Club - New Clubrooms

Holmes was engaged in 2024 to manage the construction of the new clubhouse at Martinborough Golf Club. While the club undertook demolition of the old clubrooms, Holmes’ scope included excavation, hardfill, preparation of the building platform for the new facility and the construction of the new clubhouse facility.

The floor plan of the new facility features an open plan function space, foyer, toilet and change room facilities, as well as a simulator suite. One of the main challenges of this project was successfully delivering the facility while the Golf Club remained fully operational. To achieve this, we maintained strong and transparent communication lines with Golf Club representatives. Fencing was installed around the perimeter of the complex, with weekly reviews to ensure the site remained fully secure and inaccessible to the public at all times. Additionally, we assisted with creating temporary facilities for members to use while construction was underway.

A key success factor of this project was the value engineering Holmes offered during the design process. Given that the facility was community funded, it was necessary to ensure that the budget was well allocated. Our senior management personnel worked closely with Golf Club representatives and subcontractors to ensure material selection focused on delivering to the client's expectations and budget.

We successfully delivered this facility on budget and to programme in December 2024.
