Te Manawaroa o Kuki Rīmene
Holmes Construction was proud to deliver Te Manawaroa o Kuki Rīmene - a new housing development in Masterton created for Rangitāne whānau in partnership with Tū Mai Rā.
The development includes ten architecturally designed homes across three separate buildings, carefully planned to create a safe, functional, and connected community environment. The mix of one, two, and three-bedroom homes includes accessible layouts designed to support a range of whānau needs now and into the future.
Built on land returned through Treaty Settlement, the project represents an important milestone for Rangitāne and a long-term investment in housing, wellbeing, and community. Named in honour of kaumātua Kuki Rīmene, the development recognises his contribution to the Rangitāne Treaty journey and the legacy carried forward through projects like this.
Architecturally, the project combines durable materials with clean, contemporary forms - using corrugated cladding, screened outdoor spaces, generous landscaping, and shared communal areas to create homes that feel both practical and welcoming. The site layout was designed to encourage connection between residents while still maintaining privacy and individuality for each home.
From early earthworks through to completion, the project was delivered through strong collaboration and a shared focus on building quality homes with lasting community impact.
