Located within the industrial park in Masterton, Strength Nation was conceived as a purpose-built facility - a blank slate transformed into a high-spec training environment. Designed from the ground up to support performance, durability and presence, the building reflects the brand it houses: bold, disciplined and unapologetically strong.
Externally, the structure is direct and confident. Black vertical cladding wraps the form, anchoring it within its industrial context while reinforcing the Strength Nation identity. Clean lines, oversized glazing and illuminated signage give the building a strong street presence by day and an unmistakable glow by night.
Inside, the scale of the space immediately sets the tone. The large-span structure, formed with Timberspan portal frames, allows for expansive, uninterrupted training zones. The result is a gym that feels open, powerful and purpose-driven.
Training Spaces
The layout has been carefully planned to support a range of training styles. A generous weights area forms the core of the gym floor, surrounded by dedicated zones that allow members to move seamlessly between disciplines. A separate class space provides flexibility for group sessions, while the inclusion of a sauna adds a layer of recovery and wellbeing - elevating the facility beyond a standard industrial gym fit-out.
Polished concrete floors, dark finishes and exposed structural elements reinforce the industrial character. Overhead, geometric LED lighting creates a striking feature against the dark ceiling, adding rhythm and energy to the training environment.
Brand and Experience
Black-on-black detailing continues throughout, tying the interior back to the external form and brand identity. The reception area sets the tone on arrival - minimal, strong and refined - with custom joinery delivering both function and presence.
